Introducción:
- El libro de Daniel fue escrito en un tiempo de gran peligro nacional para alentar a los judíos recordándoles que el Dios soberano todavía tiene el control, a pesar de su situación actual. Este mensaje ha sido traído a generaciones de santos, desde la salida de Egipto, hasta las congregaciones de fe de nuestros tiempos. I: EL DIOS DE LAS INTERVENCIÓNES…
- El Dios de Daniel le dio, o le concedió, esto muestra la participación activa de Dios en la vida de su pueblo.
- Que Daniel hallara gracia con el príncipe de los eunucos, que hallara aceptación según sus méritos; Dan. 1:9. Como lo hizo José con el guardián de la prisión; mostrando así nuestro Dios amor por sus hijos; Gen. 39:20-21.
- En Dan. 9:23 se nos muestra el amor de Dios por Daniel. No estamos informados a qué hora Daniel comenzó a orar, pero como se comentó anteriormente, esto evidentemente significa que en el cielo, tan pronto como Daniel comenzó a orar, Dios le envió un mandato a Gabriel para que visitara a Daniel y le transmitiera el importante mensaje de los eventos futuros. Esto no ha cambiado, Dios sigue favoreciendo a sus hijos que le son fieles; Dan. 12:1-3, 13.
II: Dios intervino en el resultado a la petición de Daniel…
- Nabucodonosor puso a disposición de los cautivos abundantes provisiones; 1:8.
- La de ellos era una vida de lujo, no de privaciones, porque cada día se les daba una porción de la comida del rey así como del vino que él bebía. Asimismo, con toda seguridad lo que se servía en la mesa del rey eran muchas cosas que estaban prohibidas por la ley, así que participar de ellas contaminaría a los jóvenes judíos. Por otro lado, sin duda que esa comida real había sido sacrificada y ofrecida a los dioses paganos antes de ser llevada ante el rey, comerla era contrario a Éxodo 34:15, donde se prohibía a los judíos tomar cualquier alimento que hubiera sido sacrificado a los dioses paganos. Beber el vino del rey presentaba los mismos problemas, para cumplir con la prohibición del A.T. de no tomar “vino fuerte” – Prov. 20:1; Isa. 5:11. Daniel conocía los requerimientos de la ley que determinaban lo que debía o no debía comer o beber.
- El deseo de Daniel era agradar a Dios en todo lo que hacía, así que propuso en su corazón que aunque no estuviera en su tierra, cumpliría la ley divina, seguiría considerando que estaba bajo la ley. Pidió por tanto, al jefe de los eunucos que no se le obligase a contaminarse y que se le excusara de comer y beber de la comida y el vino que el rey tan generosamente les proveía. Daniel fue valiente y decidió seguir siendo obediente a Dios.
- El resultado.
- 1:15–16; “Al cabo de los diez días… el rostro de los cuatro que habían comido sólo vegetales estaba mejor y más saludables y robustos que el de los muchachos que comían de la comida del rey. Puesto que los cuatro se veían mejor y no peor que los otros, como Aspenaz había imaginado; V. 10, no puso objeciones a la dieta que Daniel había solicitado para él y sus amigos. Así que se les permitió comer sólo legumbres.
- Aunque el Señor no había prohibido abstenerse totalmente de carne; Gen. 9:3; Ro. 14:14; 1 Cor. 10:25–26, la dieta de legumbres fue mejor que la comida del rey. Esto también muestra que Dios bendice a quienes obedecen sus mandamientos y prospera a quienes confían en él. Este incidente debería haber sido una lección para la nación de Israel. Dios les había exigido obediencia a la ley. El castigo vino por su desobediencia, pero aun durante ese tiempo, el Señor protegió y sostuvo a los que le obedecían y confiaban en él para su sustento.
III: La determinación de Daniel de ser fiel a su Dios…
- Daniel significa “Dios es mi juez” y nunca hubo un hombre que tuviera fe y que no tuviera pruebas. Dondequiera que haya fe en Dios, se pondrá a prueba en algún momento; tiene que ser así. No puede ser que la casa sea edificada, ni siquiera sobre la roca, sin que llueva, que vengan las inundaciones y los vientos golpeen esa casa.
- Daniel propuso en su corazón ser fiel a su Dios, no contaminarse con la comida y el vino del rey; V. 8. Porque Daniel, cuando todavía era un joven, un cautivo, un estudiante, estaba tan decidido en lo que hacía, que su vida después de la muerte se volvió tan brillante. Dios nos ayude en el servicio a Dios, hemos y estamos viviendo una vida con Dios; y si estamos con Dios, nuestra vida será feliz, y tendrá un final verdaderamente bendecido; Sal. 1:1-3; Jer. 17:8.
- Dios quiere hombres como Daniel, decididos a serle fiel a su Dios, porque hay muchas tentaciones que resistir; Mateo 26:41; Santiago 1:12, 14-15; 1 Tim. 4:12.
Conclusión:
- La fe promueve, motiva y lleva a una vida santa, Daniel mostro su fe cuando rogó al jefe de los eunucos; “te ruego que hagas la prueba con tus siervos por diez días”. Creo que todo cristiano debería estar dispuesto a ser probado. Debería estar contento de dejar que su fe sea puesta a prueba, y esperar las intervenciones de Dios en su vida.
- Daniel fue desde el principio un verdadero testigo de la verdad. Fue fiel a su conciencia, no era solo la lealtad a sus principios como hijo de Dios, sino la lealtad a su conciencia fue lo que le mantuvo firme en la hora de la prueba.
