Y la mujer fue salva desde aquella hora. 23Al entrar Jesús en la casa del principal, viendo a los que tocaban flautas, y la gente que hacía alboroto, 24les dijo: Apartaos, porque la niña no está muerta, sino duerme. Y se burlaban de él. 25Pero cuando la gente había sido echada fuera, entró, y tomó de la mano a la niña, y ella se levantó. 26Y se difundió la fama de esto por toda aquella tierra.” Mateo 9:18-26.
Lo primero que notamos es que Jairo se presenta ante Jesús con mucho respeto porque el texto dice se postro. La misma palabra en otros versos se traduce ADORO. Reconoció su Deidad. Y no vemos al Señor rechazando esa adoración.
Veamos otros que le adoraron:
- El Leproso: “Y he aquí vino un leproso y se postró ante él, diciendo: Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme.” Mateo 8:2.
- La mujer cananea: “Entonces ella vino y se postró ante él, diciendo: ¡Señor, socórreme!” Mateo 15:25.
- La madre de Juan y Jacobo: “Entonces se le acercó la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos, postrándose ante él y pidiéndole algo.” Mateo 20:20.

Jairo cree que Jesús tiene el poder para levantar a su hija de entre los muertos. (Cuando los textos paralelos dicen que la niña todavía estaba viva cuando Jairo salió a buscar a Jesús y que en el tiempo de espera ella murió, pero esto no cambia el milagro del Señor).
Esta mujer al tener este flujo de sangre es una mujer inmunda y cualquiera que la tocare quedaría inmundo, pero, no así nuestro Señor. Leamos: “Cuando la mujer tuviere flujo de sangre, y su flujo fuere en su cuerpo, siete días estará apartada; y cualquiera que la tocare será inmundo hasta la noche.” Levítico 15:19. Esta mujer al igual que Jairo tiene una gran fe en el Señor y por eso ella cree que es suficiente tocar el borde de su manto. La fe de esta mujer era una fe activa. El Señor sintió que salió poder de EL, por eso pregunto quien le había tocado. Ahora ella viene y se postra ante el Señor y es la misma palabra para adorar. Y ella declara lo que en ella por 12 años la había atormentado y como ahora se siente aliviada. Vemos que Jesús quiso demostrar algo y es que si EL podía sanar el cuerpo también podía sanar el alma.
Jesús llega a la casa de Jairo hay mucha gente gritando y llorando. Dice un diccionario: “Era costumbre de los hebreos, como sigue siéndolo en Oriente, hacer una gran exhibición de duelo. Para expresar su dolor por la muerte de un ser querido, o por una calamidad pública o privada, golpeaban el pecho, se cubrían la cabeza, ayunaban, echaban polvo o cenizas sobre sus cabezas, descuidaban su cabello, llevaban vestidos de colores apagados, rasgaban sus vestiduras, se vestían de saco” Nuevo diccionario bíblico ilustrado. Era costumbre entre los judíos buscar personas que vinieran a llorar a las cosas donde había muertos, algunos lo hacían como un trabajo. Veamos algunos versos en Jeremías: “Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: Considerad, y llamad plañideras que vengan; buscad a las hábiles en su oficio; 18y dense prisa, y levanten llanto por nosotros, y desháganse nuestros ojos en lágrimas, y nuestros párpados se destilen en aguas.” Jeremías 9:17-18. Y También Amos: “Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos: En todas las plazas habrá llanto, y en todas las calles dirán: ¡Ay! ¡Ay!, y al labrador llamarán a lloro, y a endecha a los que sepan endechar.” Amos 5:16.
A ellos dijo el Señor: “Apartaos, porque la niña no está muerta, sino duerme”. Ellos se burlan porque están seguros de que está muerta. Pero el Señor los hecha a todos fuera. Es fácil que la gente se burle cuando ignora la realidad y la profundidad de los planes del Señor. Sin embargo, la burla de ellos no debe sorprendernos pues sabían que la niña estaba muerta, y desde un punto de vista humano la reacción era natural. La actitud de Jairo fue totalmente distinta.
Jesús tuvo la oportunidad de mostrar su poder sobre la muerte en tres ocasiones.
- La niña de Jairo que ya tenia 12 años.
- El hijo de la viuda de Naín: “Y acercándose, tocó el féretro; y los que lo llevaban se detuvieron. Y dijo: Joven, a ti te digo, levántate. 15Entonces se incorporó el que había muerto, y comenzó a hablar. Y lo dio a su madre.” Lucas 7:14-15.
- Y a Lázaro que ya tenia 4 días de muerto: “Y habiendo dicho esto, clamó a gran voz: ¡Lázaro, ven fuera! 44Y el que había muerto salió, atadas las manos y los pies con vendas, y el rostro envuelto en un sudario. Jesús les dijo: Desatadle, y dejadle ir.” Juan 11:43-44.
Y el relato termina diciendo que Jesús “tomó de la mano a la niña, y ella se levantó”. Así fue como la burla de los presentes se tornó en admiración, pues “se difundió la fama de esto por toda aquella tierra”.
Jairo no quedó avergonzado por haber puesto su fe en el Señor, de quien conocía que tenía poder y amor para socorrerlo. Esperaba un gran milagro, y lo vio realizado. Bien dice la Escritura que “todo aquel que en él creyere, no será avergonzado” (Ro. 10:11).
Al pensar en estos milagros vemos que están entrelazados por el numero 12. Es la edad de la niña de Jairo y es el tiempo que esta mujer sufrió con el flujo de sangre. La mujer poco a poco se venía apagando su vida, pero la niña la perdió en un instante. Lo más hermoso de este milagro doble es que Jesús tenía el poder para quitar cualquier flujo maligno y aun volver a dar la vida a la niña.
Ahora era evidente que Jesús no sólo tenía poder para sanar enfermos, echar fuera demonios y perdonar pecados, sino que ¡además podía resucitar muertos!
Y EL nos hizo una promesa maravillosa: “No os maravilléis de esto; porque vendrá hora cuando todos los que están en los sepulcros oirán su voz; 29y los que hicieron lo bueno, saldrán a resurrección de vida; mas los que hicieron lo malo, a resurrección de condenación.” Juan 5:28-29.
