Introducción:
- Alguien dijo; héroes, todos necesitamos héroes, pero ¿quiénes son ellos? Los héroes son aquellos que ya alcanzaron lo que ellos se determinaron lograr. Un héroe es aquel que da un paso al frente, o que se pone de pie, para aceptar valerosamente los retos de la vida. Pocos se han ganado su lugar en al salón de los héroes como David, el dulce cantor de Israel.
- La historia de David es una de contrastes, siendo un pastor desconocido, llego a ser rey del pueblo de Dios. De ser un guerrero tosco, vino a ser un poeta y compositor. De la fuerza del trono, a la debilidad en su casa. Después que mato a un gigante, vino a ser derrotado por su propia lascivia, al codiciar y tomar la mujer de su prójimo. La vida de David es una historia asombrosa, notemos lo que dijo Dios de él; 1 Sam. 13:14; Hechos 13:22.
- En el Antiguo Testamento hay más espacio dedicado a David, que a alguien más, y porque su nombre se menciona tanto, creemos que David era como un ser sobre humano y un fenómeno sin faltas ni fracasos. Pero eso no es así, la verdad se ha dicho en la Biblia, que David era un hombre así como nosotros. Aunque es imposible resumir su vida en una sola frase, para hacerlo, quiero usar las mismas palabras de David en Salmo 3:3; “Pero Tú, oh SEÑOR, eres escudo en derredor mío, Mi gloria, y el que levanta mi cabeza”. I: Su unción; 1 Sam. 16:1-13…
La práctica de la unción con aceite perfumado era común entre los hebreos. El acto de ungir era significativo de una consagración para un uso sagrado; De ahí la unción del sumo sacerdote, a quien igual que el rey se le llama el ungido. El ungir a un rey equivalía a coronarle; 1 Sam. 16:13; 2 Sam. 2:4, etc. Los profetas también fueron ungidos, el ungir también se usó como un acto de hospitalidad, refrescar al extranjero, también se para usos médicos.
- En su unción, David fue alguien que nadie extrañó; Vv. 1-11.
- No caigamos en la trampa pensando, que Dios uso a David porque mataría a un gigante. Algunos tienen la idea de que Dios busca y escoge solo a los más talentosos para hacer su trabajo, pero esto no es cierto; 1 Cor. 1:26-29. Mientras el hombre se enfoca en las cosas externas, Dios mira algo más, Dios mira el corazón de aquel que pasara la prueba de su inspección, de aquel que estará dispuesto a humillarse para hacer su voluntad. Nosotros conocemos a David después que vino a ser famoso, pero Dios lo conocía antes que lo fuera.
- ¿Por qué es importante enfatizar este principio en la vida de David? Porque él y nosotros no somos diferentes a David. Quién diría, este muchacho tiene talento, gracia, encanto y la palabra rey escrita en su frente. Tal vez nadie, ni aun sus hermanos votarían por David como el más apropiado para tener éxito. 1 Samuel 16 comienza con Dios reprendiendo a Samuel y mandándole que fuera a Belén, a la casa de Isaí porque de sus hijos había escogido un rey para El, y a quien debería de ungir. Samuel vio al mayor y concluyó lo obvio, pero Dios miro lo contrario; V. 1, 6-7. Uno a uno pasaron los hijos de Isaí; Vv. 8-10, y Samuel pregunto; ¿Son estos todos tus hijos? Isaí respondió, aún queda el menor; V. 11.
II: La elección poco probable…
- Si nosotros fuéramos vecinos de Isaí, probablemente no conociéramos el nombre de su hijo más pequeño, el hermano anónimo, y pastor de ovejas.
- Uno debería de amar a los que Dios escoge para su uso, aquellos que nadie quiere, son los que Dios escoge. Por ejemplo Dios escogió…
- a) A un pastor tartamudo llamado Moisés, que ya tenía 80 años; Éxodo 3:4-10.
- b) A una ramera creyente que vivía en Jericó; Josué 2:11-14; 6:25.
- c) A un hombre del campo y pastor de ovejas llamado Amos; Amos 1:1; 7:14-15.
- d) Y a los pescadores de una región apartada, llamada Galilea; Marcos 1:16-20.
- Dios los escogió a ellos, y a más como ellos porque vio que ellos tenían lo que El necesitaba para ser usados por El. Por eso escogió a David, Dios vio lo que otros no vieron, un hombre con un gran corazón, carácter y también integridad; Salmo 78:70-72; 2 Sam. 7:8.
III: La elección del pueblo…
- El pueblo pide rey, cuarenta años antes de la inauguración de David, el periodo de los jueces llegó a su fin.
- Bajo el viejo y cansado Samuel, Israel estaba alejándose de Dios, e hicieron una demanda; 1 Sam. 8:1-5. Israel se había preocupado porque sus vecinos les preguntaban que donde estaba su Dios, ellos querían un rey como todos los demás.
- Viéndose rechazado Samuel oro al Señor; 8:6-7, y advirtió a Israel de las consecuencias de sus demandas; Vv. 10-18, pero ellos reusaron escuchar; Vv. 19-20. Dios acepto sus demandas como una manera de castigarlos por su rebelión. Recibirían lo que ellos querían; Oseas 13:9-11.
- Un joven llamado Saúl; 9:1-2.
- Si alguien se miraba como un rey, Saúl era ese hombre, el tenia personalidad y encanto. Por un tiempo parecía que había sido un hombre apropiado para ser el rey de Israel, pero pronto comenzó a dar señales de su inmadurez, al usurpar la autoridad de Samuel; 13:1-13.
- Egoísmo hace que una persona se centre en el mismo, se ame mucho a sí mismo, y eventualmente cae en la condición mental de delirios de persecución, celos injustificados, auto-importancia exagerada; 15:10-12, 23-28.
IV: David, un hombre conforme al corazón de Dios; 1 Sam. 13:13-14…
- Tres cosas hicieron a David el hombre de Dios.
- Su espiritualidad: 2 Crónicas 16:9. Por haberse Asa rey de Judá, apoyado en el rey de Damasco, habría guerras contra ellos. David tuvo un corazón que vibró apasionadamente por Dios, su corazón humilde estaba completamente en Dios por su necesidad espiritual, así como para ser el líder de la nación.
- Su humildad; Salmo 89:19-20. Mi siervo, es una frase que excelentemente describe a David. Los siervos genuinos no buscan gloria, ni protegen su imagen, buscar la gloria caracterizo al primer rey, y sabemos a dónde llevó al pueblo. Dios buscaba una cosa, un siervo, un líder con un corazón de un siervo, “David hará lo que yo quiero” – Hech. 13:20-22.
- Su integridad; Salmo 78:70-72. La integridad en su centro implica lealtad, aunque al principio el pueblo amo a Saúl, a Dios le preocupo su arrogancia y desobediencia. Saúl llevó al pueblo a un callejón sin salida, un camino que les trajo terribles consecuencias. Se había llegado el tiempo de un cambio; 1 Sam. 13:14; 16:11-13.
Conclusión:
- El lugar donde Dios puso a David para su entrenamiento, fue el campo de la preparación, le iba a dar una gran responsabilidad; 1 Sam. 17:31-37. Fue en el campo de los pastores que David vino a entender los términos de la realidad, es ese campo el león y el oso fueron reales y al enfrentarse a ellos encontró fe y valor.
- Dos cosas podemos aprender de David, antes que Dios le confiara a su pueblo y lo coronara como rey, Dios quería ver primero qué clase de pastor iba a ser. Lucas 16:10; “El que es fiel en lo muy poco, es también fiel en lo mucho”. Cuando Dios quiere desarrollar un carácter, no tiene prisa en hacerlo. Dios le dio a David el tiempo necesario para que creciera para venir a ser el rey, que el necesitaba que el fuera.
- El mismo principio de aplica hoy para nosotros. Dijo Cristo en Lucas 16:10; “El que es injusto en lo muy poco, también es injusto en lo mucho”. Un hombre que demuestra fidelidad en asuntos pequeños, también lo hará en los grandes; Y el que engaña y defrauda en cosas pequeñas, también lo hará en aquellas que envuelvan más confianza y responsabilidad.
