1 CORINTIOS 7:12-16 –
Introducción.
— 1 Corintios 7:10-11 Pablo dice, “Pero a los que están unidos en matrimonio, mando, no yo, sino el Señor: Que la mujer no se separe del marido; 11 y si se separa, quédese sin casar, o reconcíliese con su marido; y que el marido no abandone a su mujer”. Al separarse de su marido ella separa lo que Dios juntó. Mateo 19:9 dice “repudia”; Pablo dice “separarse” y “abandonar”. Es lo mismo. También el divorciarse, palabra que normalmente incluye la idea de ciertos pasos legales.
— 7:12, “Y a los demás yo digo, no el Señor: Si algún hermano tiene mujer que no sea creyente, y ella consiente en vivir con él, no la abandone”.
— ¿Cómo consiente la mujer incrédula en vivir con el marido cristiano? Acepta que es cristiano. Él es fiel marido, ama a su esposa “como Cristo amó a la iglesia, y se entregó a sí mismo por ella”. Este es un amor sacrificial. Él pone a Cristo primero pero eso no significa que descuida a su esposa. Muy al contrario, es muy buen marido, cariñoso, atento hacia ella en todo. Pero ella debe aceptarlo sabiendo que es cristiano y que pone a Dios en primer lugar.
— 7:13. Y si una mujer tiene marido que no sea creyente, y él consiente en vivir con ella, no lo abandone.
— Consiente el incrédulo en vivir con ella sabiendo que ella es cristiana y por lo tanto pone al Señor en primer lugar. Estudia la Biblia, ora y canta a Dios, asiste a los servicios de la iglesia fielmente, participando como maestra de clases de niños, ofrenda según Dios les haya prosperado. La acepta sabiendo que ella es servicial, que practica la hospitalidad recibiendo a los hermanos y también recibe a los no miembros en su hogar pero no tolera el fumar, el tomar, el lenguaje corrompido. En fin, la acepta como cristiana.
—– 7:14. Porque el marido incrédulo es santificado en la mujer, y la mujer incrédula en el marido;
— ¿Santificado en qué sentido? No en el sentido de ser salvos por estar casados con cristianos, sino que tal matrimonio es acepto ante los ojos de Dios.
— pues de otra manera vuestros hijos serían inmundos, mientras que ahora son santos.
— Nadie diría que los hijos de tal matrimonio serían inmundos, claro que no. Entonces tampoco deberían pensar que el matrimonio es inmundo y no aceptable ante los ojos de Dios.
— 7:15. Pero si el incrédulo se separa, sepárese; pues no está el hermano o la hermana sujeto a servidumbre en semejante caso, sino que a paz nos llamó Dios.
— Si el incrédulo no consiente en vivir con la cristiana por causa de la fe de ella, él estaría constantemente criticándola por asistir a todos los servicios, por querer ofrendar generosamente, por recibir a los hermanos y servirles en lo que pueda. Se quejaría cuando ella prohíbe el fumar, tomar, maldecir, contar chistes sucios, etc. en su casa.
— Sin duda hubo casos de separarse tales maridos de sus esposas cristianas y al saber ellas que sus maridos pensaban salir, ¿qué deberían hacer ellas? ¿Hacerles concesiones? “No quiero que te vayas, ya no voy tanto a la iglesia para que pueda pasar más tiempo contigo, nada más pongo un dólar en la colecta, no invito a los hermanos a comer con nosotros, etc.”
— Es muy posible que en tal caso el factor económico tenga su parte en el asunto, o su preocupación por los hijos.
— La palabra “servidumbre” no significa “matrimonio”. Más bien, en tal caso la esposa cristiana haría toda clase de concesiones para satisfacer a su marido para que no saliera y de esa manera ella estaría sujeta a servidumbre al marido, llegando a ser su esclava para que él no la dejara. La consecuencia sería que al rendirse a su marido estaría negando a Cristo, dejando de asistir fielmente a los servicios de la iglesia y en general descuidando su servicio a Dios.
— Al separarse el marido incrédulo por no querer vivir con una esposa cristiana no se disuelve el matrimonio, sino que la enseñanza de 1 Corintios 7:11 se aplica. Si el marido vuelve a su esposa arrepentido y pidiendo perdón pueden reconciliarse. Pablo no dice “volver a casarse” sino “reconciliarse”.
—- 7:16. Porque ¿qué sabes tú, oh mujer, si quizá harás salvo a tu marido? ¿O qué sabes tú, oh marido, si quizá harás salva a tu mujer?”
— Pablo introduce estas preguntas con la palabra “porque” indicando que estas preguntas son para convencer a la esposa cristiana que no debería hacer concesiones a su marido incrédulo para evitar que se saliera. Habría muy poca esperanza de cambiarlo aunque ella hiciera concesiones. En lugar de eso “si se separa, que se separe”. Además estaría en juego la salvación de ella también porque si ella se sujetara a la servidumbre de su marido incrédulo, siendo como esclava de él, ella también podría perder su alma.
