MARCOS 10:46-52
“Entonces vinieron a Jericó; y al salir de Jericó él y sus discípulos y una gran multitud, Bartimeo el ciego, hijo de Timeo, estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando. Y oyendo que era Jesús nazareno, comenzó a dar voces y a decir: ¡Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí! Y muchos le reprendían para que callase, pero él clamaba mucho más: ¡Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí! Entonces Jesús, deteniéndose, mandó llamarle; y llamaron al ciego, diciéndole: Ten confianza; levántate, te llama. El entonces, arrojando su capa, se levantó y vino a Jesús. Respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y el ciego le dijo: Maestro, que recobre la vista. Y Jesús le dijo: Vete, tu fe te ha salvado. Y en seguida recobró la vista, y seguía a Jesús en el camino.”
La historia para este día es una de las más maravillosas del libro de Marcos.
Primero vemos que el Ciego Bartimeo en cuanto escucho que Jesús iba pasando cerca de donde el estaba mendigando, empezó a gritar desesperado, y no hubo forma en que la gente lo callara.
El necesitaba su vista, el anhelaba ver y sabía que Jesús le podía sanar. Jesús escucho sus gritos y se detuvo y mando a llamarlo.
Ahora la gente cambia de actitud y lo animan para que se acerque a Jesús.
Así es la gente de cambiante primero lo cayán y ahora lo animan.
Jesús le pregunta: ¿Qué quieres que te haga?, y el responde: Maestro, que recobre la vista. Para Bartimeo no había mayor bendición que recobrar su vista y el Señor se lo concede.
Muchas veces las bendiciones que tenemos del Señor no las valoramos porque las tenemos ahí cada día, como el abrir los ojos, el estar vivo, el poder hablar, y muchas más.
Otra cosa importante en esta historia es que Bartimeo tenía fe en Jesús por lo que había oído, aquí se cumple lo que el Apóstol Pablo nos enseña en Romanos 10:17: “Así que la fe es por el oír, y el oír, por la palabra de Dios.” Y por eso ahora Jesús le dice: Vete, tu fe te ha salvado.
Bartimeo tuvo la fe para despojarse de su capa y tirarla, él no quería que nada le impidiera llegar hasta donde estaba Jesús, lo mismo tenemos que hacer nosotros según Hebreos 12:1-2: “Por tanto, nosotros también, teniendo en derredor nuestro tan grande nube de testigos, despojémonos de todo peso y del pecado que nos asedia, y corramos con paciencia la carrera que tenemos por delante,
puestos los ojos en Jesús, el autor y consumador de la fe, el cual por el gozo puesto delante de él sufrió la cruz, menospreciando el oprobio, y se sentó a la diestra del trono de Dios.” .
Vamos a despojarnos de todo pecado y vamos poner nuestra mirada en Jesús. Y que de usted amigo oyente, ¿su fe es grande como para confiar en Jesús y su palabra?, ¿Insistiría como lo hizo Bartimeo para pedir ayuda a Jesús?, ¿está dispuesto a despojarse de todo pecado?
